Welcoming Wisdom: Croning

What is a crone?

A crone is someone who lives their life out loud. (Crones aren’t necessarily women!) They care less about what people think and focus on how they are called to live. They wear what they want and compassionately speak. They own their destiny. A crone is way too full of wisdom and experience to be anyone other than themself.  And, they share that self with the world because how could they not?

What about wisdom?

A crone is a wisdom keeper and a wisdom sharer. They are vessels for their wisdom and for the collective wisdom. This is not horded wisdom; it is wisdom shared with the world. Ultimately being a crone is about taking risks, living from their core, and sharing not out of arrogance but to make the world less uncertain, better for however they touch it.

What is so great about being a crone?

Being unapologetically wise is of the best parts of being a crone. They are a wisdom keeper and a wisdom seeker. But, they doesn’t hoard wisdom, they share it with others while gleaning wisdom from others, community, nature — really the world. And, in this sharing the world is made better. A crone is a sage of community.

What are the prerequisites for being a crone?

There are none! It doesn’t matter your age, your gender, your socioeconomic status, your education — I hope you get the picture. Croning is about sharing your wisdom whenever/however you find it. Croning is a call to share yourself and in doing so, make the world a little less uncertain and a lot brighter. Croning is about turning your internal light onto the external world.
